Salt could make your headache worse
How to reduce headhaches? Decreasing the daily amount of salt. This is what the Johns Hopkins University says in an article published in the "British Medical Journal".
The researchers examined 400 people, divided into a group that followed a diet based on fruits and vegetables, and another that follower a diet based on animal products. All participants in the study, regardless of the type of diet that was followed, consumed during meals 9 grams of salt daily, then six, and finally three.
They were asked to record all headhaches that appeared during the process. When the quantity of salt was reduced the ammount of headaches decreased.
The hypothesis is that this happens because consuming less salt lowers blood pressure and reduces heart rate, with a significant decrease in the headache attacks.
