Jack the Ripper: case solved after 126 years

A mystery that has lasted for more than a century, a crime that has fueled the imagination of writers and filmmakers. Now, after 126 years, DNA testing revealed the identity of one of the most famous murderers in history: Jack the Ripper.

The news comes from England. The Daily Mail writes about a unique and sensational founding and publishes a picture of the serial killer who terrorized prostitutes in London in 1888. During of over 100 years, several theories have been proposed and some men were identified as suspects: John Druitt, Aaron Kosminski, Michael Ostrog, George Chapman, not to mention the famous Mary Pearcey called Jill the Ripper.
Molecular biologist Jari Louhelainen, a professor at the University of Liverpool, is able to dispel all doubts, the murderer would be Aaron Kosminski a Polish immigrant.

DNA analysis was possible thanks to the discovery of biological traces on the shawl of one of the victims of Jack the Ripper, Catherine Eddowes. The shawl was purchased during an auction in 2007 by Russell Edwards. The biological traces on it were analyzed and compared with the DNA of the six suspects. The analysis began in 2011, but the result were obtained only in the past few days.
Kosminski was a Polish immigrant of the age of 23 when he committed the murders. He lived in Greenfield with his two brothers and a sister, a few meters away from where the third victim, Elizabeth Stride, was killed
