Only the receiver is wireless, works upto 7-10 meters and runs on 3 AA size cells. cells will work for about 2-2.5 months if you use it for 3-4 min calls for about 3-4 times a weak. If phone is not used the cells may last for a year depending upon the quality of the cells. Although the phone can run on landline cable power, if in any case power is low or not at all, the phone will still work on 3 AA size cells inserted on the back side of the set.
