ELECTRICAL] MECHANICAL REGULAR COURSES OFFERED AT THE IPATS IN PAKISTAN

Regular Courses / Distance Learning The regular courses offered at The IPATS one year in duration, commencing in June Each course is divided into two semesters, Level I & Level II. The trades are allocated to students based on their aptitude and performance in the entry test & interview. Students attain certification after the successful completion of the course and six months work placement in local industry. The vocations/ trades have been selected based on a survey of manpower demand in the construction industry at home and in the Gulf States. Presently five trades have been selected which are currently available for boys; while white collar trades and vocations exclusively for women are being formulated and will be announced soon. Electrical Installation: This is a one year, competency based training programme, designed to develop the skills of the trainee to internationally acceptable levels enabling him/her to work as a competent electrician in the construction, services and manufacturing industry. Mechanical Fitting & Plant Maintenance: This one year course, is a competency based training programme, designed to develop the skills of the trainee to internationally acceptable levels enabling him/her to work as General Fitter & Fabricator in Mehanical and Sheet Metal Workshops in the construction and manufacturing industry. Plumbing: This is a competency based training programme designed to develop the skills of the trainee to internationally acceptable levels enabling him/her to work as a certified Plumber and Pipe Fitter in the construction and service industry. Fabrication, Welding & Pipe work: This is a one year, competency based training programme designed to develop the skills of the trainee to internationally acceptable levels enabling him/her to work as a certified Welder (Electric Arc and Gas), in local and foreign industry. Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning: This is a one-year, competency based training programme designed to develop the skills of the trainee to internationally acceptable levels enabling him/ her to work as a competent Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic in the construction & manufacturing industry.
