Drill bits selection design criteria Marine risers Cost and AvailabilityThe course is the basic petroleum engineering course for oil and gas drilling engineering focusing on vertical holes in pressurized sediment formations offshore and onshore. The hole making process is put in the overall context of petroleum engineering and economics. The course gives adequate competence to make the decision to drill and the planning of an ordinary borehole of the subject description, and to actually make and secure the borehole. Knowledge: Basic knowledge on all topics concerning planning of an ordinary drilling process and execution of it. Skills: Able to make plan and make all relevant analysis and computations for an ordinary borehole. General competence: Qualifies for specializing at MSc level within Petroleum Engineering/Drilling Engineering.
