SOFTWARE ENGINEER (WEB/DESKTOP APPLICATIONS) IN RAWALPINDI

Position Summary: The Software Engineer will develop specifications and code moderately web applications in addition to modifying and maintaining existing web based systems.This position requires intensive design, coding and documentation. Essential Job Functions: - Designs/codes web applications following specifications using the appropriate tools. -Analysis, design and development of web products. - Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic designers and other developers. - Consulting clients/colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of web systems and asking questions to obtain information; clarify details and implement information. - Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new web applications. - Writing operational documentation of web based and/or software systems. -Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects. Creating technical specifications and test plans. Skills Required: -Web Development Skills (HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS and PHP). -Provide functional and technical analysis on business requirements from client. -Provide architectural analysis and design for scalable / reusable systems. -Design and develop project applications written in PHP for offline batch processing and third party integration/communication. -Develop and implement web services for use in a Service Oriented Architecture. -Evaluate and perform design trade-offs regarding the architecture and system components. -Fluent in PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL. -Knowledge of UML to document designs. -Knowledge of development environments such as Dreamwaver -Good communication ability, analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential, as there will be substantial business contact with end-users.
