This 8-Hour course is designed for personnel who may be designated as the Competent Person by their employer/organization for typical construction-related scaffolding operations and is also recommended for any construction, maintenance, or supervisory personnel required to inspect, assemble/disassemble, use, or supervise scaffolding.
This course is designed for Scaffold Inspectors, Scaffold Technicians, Construction Engineers, HSE Engineers, HSE Supervisors/Officers, and Construction Foremen & Supervisors. The purpose of this course is to provide scaffold erectors and scaffold users with the regulations, safety guidelines and procedures required to identify or eradicate those hazards in the field.
In this presentation, we will review the OSHA regulations as they relate to the use, basic safety, and management of various scaffolds used in the workplace. An estimated 2.3 million construction workers, or 65% of the construction industry, work on scaffolds on a regular basis. Protecting these workers from scaffold-related accidents would prevent 4,500 injuries and 60 deaths each year, at a savings for American employers of 90 million dollars in workdays not lost. This course will cover the general types, uses and purpose of scaffolding. A highlight of hazards that may be present during the setup, use or removal of scaffolds will also be discussed.
The Oasis Institute Scaffolding Program leads to certificates internationally accredited by CITB and ACCET. The program is designed to provide students with a balanced combination of engineering theory and practical hands-on experience. This will ensure that on completion of the Scaffolding Program graduates will have the required job entry skills to work within the Petroleum Services industries. Each student will complete the Academic and Basic Hand tools and Drawing foundation training prior to covering the Scaffolding Program.
