On completion of this course, participants will be able to undertake the movement of plant and equipment, steel erection, use hoists (including mast climbing hoists), undertake the placement of pre-cast concrete, use safety nets and static lines, install perimeter safety screens, shutters and cantilevered crane-loading platforms. Oasis Institute trainings are designed based on regulations and industry best practices, it is also aligned with relevant international standards and/or approved by appropriate industry accrediting bodies as necessary. The aim of Oasis Institute trainings are to ensure that all individuals have reached a recognized level of knowledge and awareness and to enable them to work on-site more safely with reduced risk to themselves and others. The training courses are specifically designed for the construction and engineering construction industries and are relevant to the following sectors: oil & gas, power, renewable energy, nuclear, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, shipbuilding, and all other construction projects including new build and transportation networks. The courses are interactive and can be delivered in the language of your choice. The content can be localized to reflect the country or region where the workforce will operate. To ensure that individuals have reached the required level of competency, they MUST successfully complete a training course and an examination. Successful candidates will then be issued a certificate transferable worldwide. Individuals must renew their certificates based on the expiry date shown on the certificate to ensure their knowledge is current. A qualified rigger is defined as a qualified person who, by possession of a recognized degree, certificate or professional standing, or who by extensive knowledge, training and experience, successfully demonstrated the ability to solve/resolve problems relating to rigging. This course brings all of the rigging concerns into focus for a practical, field proven method of ensuring rigging safety. This course offers both practical and theoretical rigging content. You will learn the responsibilities of individuals, the safe use of typical equipment and techniques involved in lifting and rigging safely in the entertainment industry. Participants will obtain the benefit of training in a safe and controlled environment. Course Outline: Current legislation and regulations, including HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER, the Work at Height Regulations and how to carry out risk assessments Working at height including work restraint, work positioning and fall arrest. This is carried out at low level on the practice beam and catenaries, then on beams at height. Principles of lifting and safe systems of work. Marking out. Rigging with a variety of typical rigging equipment including steels, round slings and shackles. Calculating simple bridles and weight distribution relating to bridling. Using trusses correctly, slinging and load distribution. Rigging with a variety of typical rigging equipment including steels, round slings and shackles. Operating chain hoists using direct control and low voltage hoist controllers. Steel wire rope terminations. Pre use checks to lifting equipment and PPE.
