Diploma in Information Technology is a Diploma level Information Technology course. Information Technology is the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications.The DIT is the connector between on-set time and post production. DITs support the camera team with technical and creative tasks with the digital camera. Their purpose is to ensure the best technical quality possible, as well as production safety.This program has been designed to develop skills in acquisition, processing, handling, retrieval and presentation of information . It provides balanced coverage of the various aspects of Computer Science and Information Technology and covers theory & practical experience that will allow the diploma holders to meet the challenges of today’s technology. It acts as a conversion course and is intended for those who want to become computer professionals. The specialization options facilitates the learners to choose their area of interest to further their career.This diploma course may also be offered by some certain institutes on a part-time basis and its syllabus is divided into three semesters.The ICTE is to provide knowledge and Technical competence in Informatics and the field of Information Technology (IT) or to the student who wants to pursue further studies in computing fields.Directors have decided not to recruit / enrol any new students in the Diploma of Information Technology course, effective 20th September 2019. This decision does not affect currently enrolled students, since units within their course will continue to be available for them to study and graduate, and the Diploma will be in a “teach out” study mode over the next two years.The Diploma of Information Technology (DIT) ) lays foundations in computing, computer hardware and architecture, web and multimedia technologies, operating systems and database technologies. It is delivered as a hands-on practical experience and learning course with different computer technologies, in both individual and collaborative modes.
